Egyptian Premier League leaders Zamalek SC has threatened to boycott the derby. Zamalek SC wrote letter to Egypt Football Association asking the Cairo derby to be played behind close doors.

 

According to Zamalek , the decision to allow 4000 fans from Al Ahly and 1500 for Zamalek SC doesn't ensure equality.Zamalek SC is claiming that the first round between the two sides ,the match was played behind close doors. Al Ahly won 5-3 in the first round under coach Pitso Mosimane.

 

The veteran coach Mohamed Omar has accused the former Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane for showing favouritism.Omar said "Percy Tau and Luis Miquisson are good players but they haven't shown a good performances with Al Ahly yet.
