Residents in Lifateng,Tembisa went on the streets on Friday night ,burning tyres and closing streets. They are not happy about the way police are responding when they need them to deal with crime in the area.It is alleged that three people were killed in the area ,according to Community members when they report such ,police are not responding .

According to Voice of Tembisa FM reporter ,Limidlela street to the train station was closed and Andrew Amaphetho Street. One of the residence said to Voice of Tembisa FM reporter "we took the decision to close streets so that atleast we can get their attention because they don't listen to us.When we call them ,they always respond after four hours.

"Even now they are not saying anything ,we want to work with them,we are not against the police".Another residence said"We've had it enough , we've been chasing criminals alone police always arrived after three to four hours ,we are in sector four ,Ward 9 in Tembisa".

Another residence said"Everyday we experience four to five cases of death ,killed by criminals and it seems police are defending criminals. We do have structures like CPF ,Patrollers but these criminals are armed ,driving Toyota then you can't expect patrollers to fight against armed criminals."

Station Commander from Rabasotho police station came to talk to the residents who promised that on Monday the 31st of January 2022 they are going to shut down the whole Tembisa alongside with Tembisa Forum till they see changes from the Police.
